From the question to the result, in three steps
- The board sets the vote. A board election, a policy change, a budget approval or a community initiative, with two to six choices, the dates, and the quorum and majority it needs.
- Residents vote from their phone. Each voter casts one ballot, sees only their own, and cannot change it once it is cast.
- The result, on the record. When the vote closes, each choice’s count and share is shown beside the turnout among eligible voters.
The system counts. The board sets the rules.
- Whether a ballot is sealed or named.
- The quorum and majority a vote needs to carry.
- Whether a vote residents asked for goes on the ballot.
Once anyone has voted, the choices, the sealing and the bar to carry are locked, so the rules cannot change in the middle of a vote.
Why the community can trust the count
- Sealed means sealed. On a sealed ballot, no one sees the count for each choice until the vote closes, the board included.
- One voter, one ballot. The database refuses a second ballot from the same voter, and no one can edit a ballot once it is cast.
- Residents can ask for a vote. A request from a neighbour waits for the board to schedule it, so nothing reaches the ballot without the board.
- Documents beside the question. Attach the proposal, the bid or the candidate statement to the vote itself.
- Cancelled, never erased. A vote the board calls off is marked cancelled and stays on the record.
- Candidates can step forward. Residents apply to serve on the board or a committee, and the board sees every application.
